What is the No Fee For Kids Program?
Most attorneys charge somewhere between 33 and 40% of the total recovery when a child’s car accident case is settled with the insurance company before a lawsuit is filed. As the father of 3, Berin feels that children are special and, if a child’s car accident case can be settled without filing a lawsuit that child should not be charged an attorney fee. Thus he has developed a program for children, 12 and under, who are injured in a car accident in the greater Phoenix area.
Here are the program specifics:
1. Children who are 12 and under at the time of the accident are eligible.
2. The accident must have occurred in Maricopa County.
3. No attorney fee will be charged if the case can be settled before a lawsuit is filed.
4. Other costs, such as the cost of obtaining medical records, getting reports from doctors, etc. will be charged (as they would be in every case.)
How does the No Fee For Kids Program work?
Berin and his team will investigate the accident, do research, speak with medical providers, obtain records and bills and negotiate with the insurance company all with the assistance and approval of the parent or guardian. If the case can be settled without filing a lawsuit, the firm will withdraw as counsel after settlement and the insurance company will arrange for court approval of the settlement. If the parent or guardian decide that the settlement offer is too low and a lawsuit must be filed, Berin will charge a heavily discounted fee of 25% of the recovery.
